Membership Criteria & Standards
Membership Criteria
Individuals and organizations involved in the professional development of international credential evaluators and the quality of international credential evaluation practices may qualify as TAICEP members upon the payment of annual dues. By becoming a member, an individual or organization certifies that they understand and agree to adhere to the critical constructs of TAICEP’s vision, mission, values, and goals as well as the TAICEP Membership Standards Statement.
Membership does not imply accreditation, affiliation, authorization of any sort, or quality assessment. TAICEP retains the right to remove any organization or member from TAICEP membership and revoke any privileges and certificates earned at any time for misrepresenting its relationship with TAICEP and or non-adherence to TAICEP’s principles.
Membership Standards
By becoming a TAICEP member, an individual or organization certifies that they understand and agree to adhere to the critical constructs of TAICEP’s vision, mission, values, and goals as well as the TAICEP Membership Criteria and Statement of Ethics for a Credential Evaluation Professional. TAICEP has the single purpose of supporting and serving the profession of international credential evaluation. Members can be confident that their needs specific to credential evaluation will be considered and affirmed.
Please note that The TAICEP Membership Criteria and Statement of Ethics for a Credential Evaluation Professional articulates the general values and principles guiding the acceptable behaviors* of all TAICEP members. It has as its primary goal to ensure a respectful and inclusive environment for all members, committee members and Board-members alike. The TAICEP Membership Criteria and Statement of Ethics for a Credential Evaluation Professional outlines the expected professional behavior and the avoidance of conflict of interest as well as commitment to the principles of diversity and transparency. It is the individual responsibility of each Person** to aspire to the highest possible standard, respecting the ethics and principles as outlined in the above-mentioned document.
By agreeing to these standards and assuming membership with TAICEP, a member agrees to abide by the Bylaws of the association including The TAICEP Membership Criteria and Statement of Ethics for a Credential Evaluation Professional in support of TAICEP’s vision, mission, and values. Under the Bylaws, TAICEP reserves the right to expel any Person that acts in breach of the membership criteria, Bylaws, Standing Rules, or decisions of the Association; infringes the intellectual property (including the logo) of the Association; or causes unreasonable damage to the Association.
TAICEP members shall accept, follow and not be in conflict with TAICEP membership standards, values and ethics. As part of the membership application and in maintaining membership (including use of logo), the following criteria are in place:
- The member and the member’s organization’s purpose, direction, and decision-making should not conflict with TAICEP’s Standards.
- The member and the member’s organization respect the dignity and equality of all individuals, groups, and cultures.
- The member and the member’s organization will not misguide “clients” with the sole purpose of their own advantage (or disadvantage of the clients involved).
TAICEP individual and or organizational membership can be revoked if an individual or organization engages in activities contrary to TAICEP’s Vision, Mission, Values and Goals Statement. Membership in TAICEP is not a right. If TAICEP in any way has doubts about prospective or active members meeting the above-mentioned criteria, the Association maintains the right to deny or revoke membership at its discretion.
Termination of Membership
TAICEP Bylaws address termination of membership in Section 8. Termination of Membership.
